  Band  
 
Free instruction on band instruments is being offered to all interested 5th and 6th graders by our Band Directors, Mr. Lovecchio and Ms. Van Horne. Weekly group lessons are scheduled during regular school hours. Every effort is made by music specialists and classroom teachers to minimize the disruption of regular classroom studies. Classes are offered for both beginning and experienced band students.

  Chess  
 
The Chess Club offers an opportunity to play chess and learn more about the game and to experience tournament play with area schools and among other Fairhill students. Membership is limited to students in the 2nd-6th grades. Students meet on Monday mornings from 8-8:50 AM during the second semester.

  Chorus  
 
Fifth and Sixth grade students have the opportunity to participate in the Fairhill Chorus with our music teachers, Mrs. Siddons and Ms. Sternisha. Students meet during school hours on Fridays and rehearse for the Winter and Spring concerts. Selected 6th grade students participate in the All County Chorus program in the Spring.

  Fairhill Flyers  
 
Fairhill Flyers is a life-changing, experiential learning program for boys and girls in grades 3-5. The program combines training for a 3.1 mile running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. The goals of the program are to encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development. Fairhill Flyers meets on Tuesday and Thursday at 4-5 pm to prepare for and compete in a 3.1 mile running event.

  Fitness Fanatics  
 
The goal of our fitness group is to find fun ways of staying active and fit. All students in grades 3-6 are welcome. We will develop activities that can be enjoyed by everyone. Students must return a completed permission form that is signed by a parent or guardian in order to participate. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Mitchell or Mr. Svercl.

  Safety Patrol  
 
Safety Patrols play a vital role in daily life at Fairhill, helping to keep the school a safer place for everyone. During the spring, rising 5th and 6th grade students are selected by our Patrol Sponsors, Ms. Sommar and Ms. Ortega. They are assigned to positions inside and outside of the school building, on school buses, and at school crossings. Also, they assist kindergarteners to and from class each day along with raising and lowering the flags.

  Strings  
 
The string orchestra program is offered to students in grades 4, 5, and 6 by Strings Instructor Ms. Oaks.. Class instruction is offered as one class session per week on: violin, viola, cello and double bass.

  Student Council Association  
 

The SCA is Fairhill's Student Government. The Fairhill SCA is led by five officers and is supervised by Mr. Mitchell and Mr. Stephens. There is also a representative from each secend to sixth grade classroom. The SCA is a leadership and service organization which conducts service projects and promotes school spirit through leadership projects. The SCA meets once a month to plan and work on these projects.

SCA students are selected through an election process. The officers are all fifth and sixth grade students who entered the election by application. The classroom representatives are students who can apply for the position in their classroom during their classroom election.

  Tiger Live News  
 
Tiger Live News is the morning news program at Fairhill. It airs every day on our closed-circuit channel 6 at 9:15 AM. During the spring, rising 6th grade students apply for positiona and are selected by our News Team Sponsors, Ms. Day and Ms. Hickcox. The crew members operate cameras, computers, audio mixer, and digital video mixer. There is a director who is in charge of the production. News anchors lead the pledge, announce the lunch, discuss the weather, wish happy birthdays, announce spotlight reports, and read any announcements. Tiger Live News is a great way to start the day at Fairhill!
