Letter From The PTA

August 2007

Our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is here to enhance the education of all students of Fairhill Elementary School. Every year, our PTA provides gifts and support that enable the Fairhill ES teachers and staff to do more for our students by directly supporting programs including:
  • Cultural Arts Assemblies
  • Field Trips
  • Technological Advancements
  • Music, Art, and Athletics Departments
  • Gifted and Talented, Special Needs, and English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Programs
  • Reading Programs
  • Foreign Language Experience (FLEX), Mad Science, and Other After-school Programs
  • Parent Enrichment Evening Programs
Our Tiger Pride and community spirit is seen in our PTA-sponsored events including Family Fun Nights with movies and bingo, the Fall Festival, the Heritage Dinner and Spring Picnic. This year, we are planning a Chinese New Year’s Celebration, as this will be the School’s first year in the Foreign Language in Elementary Schools (FLES) program.

New volunteers are needed this year to join our PTA Officers and Leadership Board! We believe that our PTA Leadership Board should reflect the rich diversity of our Fairhill ES community. We need your vision and direction so our PTA can be an even more inclusive, broadly embraced and supportive organization for all Fairhill ES families. If you are interested in learning more about being part of the PTA Leadership Board, please contact Principal Trish Phillips or call any of the Officers listed on this website.

You can become a member of the Fairhill PTA by contributing $10 per person ($20 for 2 parent household). All PTA members will get a free school directory (a $5 savings). Your membership and participation in other fundraising demonstrates our strong support and appreciation for our teachers and staff. Don’t forget that Safeway Escrip, Giant Bonus+, Boxtops for Education and other merchant programs are an easy way to earn money for our school.

Learn about what our PTA is planning for our Tigers through notices in the Tuesday packet in the Principal’s newsletter, our PTA newsletter, and on the Fairhill ES. We also use the FCPA Keep in Touch email system.

Lend a hand for our PTA- and school-sponsored events! Please!!! We encourage all families to consider making a commitment of at least 5 hours per parent this year. We have tasks for everyone at various levels of participation. If your schedule allows for more time, join a committee or work in the classroom. Let us know how you help by filling out a volunteer form.
