FCPS is introducing a new elementary progress report that is based on curriculum standards. The new progress report will:
  • Provide parents with comprehensive information about how their child is learning.
  • Align with the Program of Studies (POS) curriculum students are learning.
  • Provide teachers with resources to communicate a more exact and consistent assessment.
  • Provide parents with comprehensive information about how their child is learning.
  • Incorporate research-based best practices in student grading and reporting.
  • Report Life, Work, and Citizenship skills separately from academic achievement.
Fairfax County Public Schools will begin using new progress reports for elementary school students in fall 2012. Community meetings about the new progress report will be held in April.

To learn more and register to attend a community meeting, click this link (English - Spanish) or contact your school’s parent liaison.

The following FCPS web page has more information for parents on the new progress reports.

The Fairfax County Public Schools Wellness Task Force is pleased to announce that Fairhill Elementary School has been awarded the Gold Apple Wellness Award for the 2010-2011 school year.
