Testing

All 9th, 10th and 11th grade students take the PSAT in mid-October. FCPS covers the cost of the PSAT for all 10th grade students. 9th and 11th grade students must pay to have the exam professionally scored. FHS recommends that all juniors take the SAT and/or the ACT in the spring of their junior year and one of the tests again in the fall of their senior year. Students must register and pay for the SAT or ACT on their own. For students applying to highly competitive schools, students will also need to take SAT II (or SAT Subject Tests). You can take up to three SAT Subject Tests on one testing date.
