About the Academy

Fairfax Academy for Communications & the Arts offers outstanding opportunities for FCPS students with career interests in performing arts, design, and media communications. Advanced career elective courses, in eight academic areas, incorporate the latest industry technology and instructional techniques.Two additional classes, in the critical language fields of Chinese and Korean, provide accelerated language instruction.

Students attending Fairfax Academy explore college and career options in arts and communications fields, develop marketable career skills for entry level work, and build an academic foundation that prepares them for success in college.

Fairfax Academy, housed within Fairfax High School, is one of five career and technical education centers in FCPS offering elective courses with a career emphasis. It is located in Fairfax, VA, about 15 miles from Washington, DC, in an area enriched by a variety of cultural and arts related activities and opportunities. Directions

From The Beltway (I-495) Exit the Beltway at Route 50W (toward Fairfax)

• Continue 3 miles to Fairfax Circle Intersection

• Proceed straight through Fairfax Circle Intersection

• Turn left at the second stop light past the circle onto Rebel Run

• You will see the school at the top of the hill

• Park in space marked VISITOR and report to Main Office to check in

From Route 66 W

• Exit #60, Route 123.

• Follow the ramp which says 123 South, Fairfax

• Continue to the second stop light which is the intersection of Rt123 (Chain Bridge Road) and Route 50
(Lee Highway) and turn left.

• Continue to the fifth stoplight (approx 1/2 mile) and turn right on Rebel Run Rd.

• You will see the school at the top of the hill.

• Park in space marked VISITOR and report to Main Office to check in
