Our school library offers a variety learning
opportunities to enrich the educational process, support the
reading initiatives of EHS/FCPS, and to foster lifelong reading
and information skills.
Seize the opportunity!
Students are welcome to browse our collection,
to do research, and to use computers for educational purposes.
During school hours, students must bring a pass from the
classroom teacher. The only exceptions are the student's
lunchtime, and before and after school.
Library Policies
Students may check out up to three books for three weeks.
Books may be renewed (unless another student has reserved
it).
Students may not check out books if they have overdue
books, or have an outstanding fine.
Students will be charged 10¢ a day per item for every
item overdue; students will be expected to pay a replacement
fee for any lost item. We ask that no student check out
items for another person. The account holder is held responsible
for all items on that account.
Reference books and magazines may be used in the library,
but may not be checked out.
Books not in Edison's collection may be acquired through
Inter-Library Loan for a two week period and may not be
renewed.
Students may not bring food or drink into the library.
Students may not have cell phones that are turned on in
the library at any time.
We strongly encourage the use of the Internet on library
computers for educational use only. Any student not in compliance
with the FCPS/Edison Internet Acceptable Use Policy will lose
computer privileges.
| When you access a database from home,
you will need a login and password. You will find them
on Blackboard in Library Land. You can also
get a list of the logins and the passwords from the
