Auto Collision Course Description
Students learn the skills needed to repair crashed and damaged automobile bodies to pre-accident condition. The state-of-the-art ADVANCED TECH curriculum used in this class was developed by industry leaders in Collision Repair Technology.
This course provides HANDS-ON training in the following areas:
- Body panel repair / replacement and MIG welding
- Plastic & composite body panel repair and replacement
- Unibody frame analysis and frame straightening
- Paint color matching, refinishing, automotive detailing and pinstriping
- damage estimating and appraisal
Collision repair technicians combine their technical knowledge with craft skills to become employable in the exciting world of collision repair technology.

Tom Carroll, Instructor
Tom comes to the Academy with a wealth of industry experience. He worked as an Automotive Painter for eight years and as a Collision Repair Technician for twenty years. He then went on to teach Collision Repair and Refinishing in St. Mary's County for two and a half years. Tom has previously taught Automotive Collision Services at the Marshall Academy and the Edison Academy. Mr. Carroll is ASE certified and I-CAR trained.

Donate your used vehicle to the Edison Academy!
Edison Academy accepts late model vehicles for both instructional purposes and for the Student Auto Sales (SAS) program. Student Auto Sales, sponsored by the Foundation for Applied Technical Education (FATE), refurbishes used vehicles for sale to the public. Proceeds benefit student competitions, scholarships, and the Automotive Technology and Automotive Collision Services programs.
Requirements for vehicle donations:
Most recent title and keys must be provided
Vehicle must be delivered to the Edison Academy
Drop offs not permitted
