At Dranesville Elementary School we strive to develop lifelong readers who set goals for their reading, who use strategies to solve reading problems and who evaluate what they have read. Teachers use a balanced approach to teaching reading which allows them to match students' instructional needs with appropriate teaching techniques. Throughout the instructional day teachers incorporate a balance of reading experiences which includes reading to children, reading with children and reading by children.
