List for
preschoolers graders
The
Dranesville preschool program is a Fairfax County Public
School program for children with special needs, ages 2 to
5. The program uses a center-based approach that incorporates
active learning and promotes growth in the areas of communication,
fine motor, gross motor, self help, and social and emotional
skills. The children are encouraged to interact with their
peers while exploring toys and manipulatives and completing
various activities. Adults facilitate learning through play
throughout the day while providing a safe and structured
environment in which the students can be successful. The
program also includes typically developing preschoolers every
year in order to provide models of age appropriate skills.
These children attend 2 to 3 days per week and serve as role
models in the class.
