Dranesville offers a Choral experience to 5th and 6th Grade students who wish to participate. The Chorus meets weekly during school hours for 45 minutes. They prepare for two concerts. The first is held in December and a final concert and awards ceremony in April. The repertoire for this groups exposes the children to music from Michael Praetorius in the 1600's to Duke Ellington and the Amercian Jazz experience. Folk repertoire and texts taken from children's literature are also a key component in the choice of repertoire. Chorus at Dranesville offers children who love to sing a wider experience of choral literature, vocal techniques and part-singing.
