Our Guidance Program
The elementary guidance program at Deer Park is a child-centered, preventive, and developmental program that complements learning in the classroom. We work with teachers and parents to help maximize each student's potential. We encourage students' social, emotional, and personal growth at each stage of their development. To accomplish this, we conduct monthly guidance lessons, run groups and lunch bunches, as well as consult with parents, teachers, and other professionals.
We discuss character education through our CHEER program, where students are recognized in each class every month for their good citizenship in displaying the qualities of Cooperation, Honesty, Equality, Empathy, and Respect.
In addition to our work with the students, we are available to talk with parents, provide workshops, help with resources in the community and provide support to all of our Deer Park families. We love working with your students and if there is any way we can help make your child's year more successful, please feel free to contact us at the school at 802-5000 or by email. |
