Upcoming Events

 

  • The Group:  Formed to meet the need for current & former families to get together to share important information and to create positive social opportunities for the students.
  • Sponsored Speakers:  Informational meetings are usually at Davis and have covered the following:  legal issues, special needs trusts, planning for children with special needs, and advocacy information for helping to affect the County and State budget process (presented by the ARC of Northern Virginia).  Some of our informational meetings this year may be combined with those of the ARC of Northern Virginia.
  • Social Events:  The parents in the Group volunteer to help organize and provide a nice variety of social events throughout the school year that are eagerly looked forward to by the students and are well-attended.  These events are usually held at the school and are completely sponsored by the Group. Among last year’s events were a Halloween Dance, Movie Night, Bingo Night, and a WII-CD-Movie event.  
  • Volunteers:  These events DO NOT HAPPEN without organizers and volunteers.  We need parents on the social committee in order to plan and hold these events.
