All computers in FCPS schools and administrative centers are filtered. WebSense, is the software used to provide a technological approach to blocking sites. Sites blocked are those that are judged pornographic, or inciting crime, violence or intolerance: topics deemed inappropriate for juveniles by the Code of Virginia. Access to the Internet is considered both a responsibility and right of FCPS students. A strong educational program about appropriate Internet usage is in place at all schools. Differing standards apply to ES, MS, HS and administrative sites. Ultimately, teachers have the primary responsibility for assuring student safety.
