The Fairfax County Regional Science and Engineering Fair staff seeks individuals who wish to lend their time and professional experience as a category judge.

The regional fair will be held from Friday, March 28, 2008 to Sunday, March 30, 2008.  Category judges are only needed on Saturday.

About 200-250 judges take part each year as a category judge, grand prize judge or both. There is also a need for qualified chairpersons responsible for judges in a particular category.

There are about 600 high school students whose individual or team science project is admitted to the regional level. Every student must be interviewed by at least three category judges.

Judges who hold advanced degrees or professional positions in their fields are preferred, but some of our judges are retirees and others are in positions outside their academic fields.
