Both public and private organizations are encouraged to participate as a sponsor for the annual Fairfax County Regional Science and Engineering Fair. The regional fair will begin
on Friday, March 28, 2008 and end with the awards ceremony on Sunday,
March 30, 2008 at Robinson
Secondary School. Nearly 600 students and 400 volunteers
participate at this three-day event. There are some 70-100 organizations that sponsor awards each year. There is no standard organization award or specific judging criteria required. The awards are an individual preference of the sponsor and the judges. Some sponsors prefer to offer awards to winners of a particular science category; to winners of team projects; or to particular winners of any project category, individual or team. Awards presented at previous Fairfax County Regional Science and Engineering Fairs have ranged from monetary gifts, gift certificates, and U.S. Treasury bonds to professional publication subscriptions or an invitation to a luncheon or dinner. To participate as a sponsor, please complete an application by clicking on the link below. As the organization's contact, you would need to provide the award details and the number of judges coming to the fair. If you have questions prior to registering, please e-mail Tim Harazin or contact him by phone at (703) 916-6934. (Judges representing their organization do not register as category judges.)
