If a student is already taking 7 courses and decides to add an online course, a fee of $600 per one credit will be applied. | Description: |
This is an advanced information technology class that provides complete, hands-on computer training in data modeling and database application software with an emphasis on Oracle 9i. An example of an Oracle website would be Amazon.com. Students taking this course will be prepared to take Oracle's Introduction to SQL (Structure Query Language) programming exam. Preparation for careers is a major component of this class. Student internships and independent study for an advanced exam (Database Fundamentals I) are an option for this course. Students passing the SQL (#1Z0-007) and the Database Fundamentals (#1Z0-031) exams will earn the Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) designation. Students completing Database Design and Management 1(666099) with a grade of "B" or better may be eligible to articulate three credits to Northern Virginia Community College.
Students may take this course in conjunction with Cooperative Office Education (COE).
Successful completion of this course in conjunction with a corresponding industry certification may qualify for a student selected verified credit.
Students successfully completing this course will satisfy the sequential elective requirement for the Standard or Modified Standard diploma. |
