Description:

Oceanography deals with geophysical and biological oceanography and covers such topics as the geology and geography of ocean basins, physical properties of sea water, marine chemistry, marine biology, salinity and density circulation in the oceans, waves, and tides and oceanographic instruments, tools, and methods.  The course is designed to be an in-depth treatment of oceanography concepts.  Students will be expected to attend two face to face sessions to complete laboratory work.  This course does not count as one of the science credits for the standard diploma.  It can be used as the fourth credit for an advanced studies diploma, if the student has already taken three science courses from three different disciplines.
