Tuition: |
Free for Fairfax County Public School students taking this course as a part of their regular school course schedule. If a student is already taking 7 courses and decides to add an online course, a fee of $600 per one credit will be applied. For eight or more credits, a tuition fee of $600 per credit will apply. For out of county students, a tuition fee of $1400 for a two credit course must be paid at registration. |

| Description: |
Network administration is a comprehensive, hands-on computer course in which students are taught basic networking skills using Windows XP Professional and Microsoft Server 2003. Topics covered throughout the year include network concepts, installation, configuration, management, and troubleshooting. Upon successful completion of network administration, students may elect to obtain industry-recognized professional certification by taking the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) exams leading to Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE). Student internship experiences are an option for this course. Students may take this course in conjunction with Cooperative Office Education (COE).
