| Using Inspiration in the Elementary Classroom

Course Description
This course is designed for elementary teachers interested in learning how to comfortably use and integrate a webbing/outlining software program, Inspiration/Kidspiration. Participants will learn the basic features of Inspiration/Kidspiration software as well as how to integrate it within the classroom curriculum and SOLs. They will have an opportunity to adapt lessons they teach in another way to Inspiration/Kidspiration as well as explore templates already created to adapt them to their needs. Participants will create a teacher productivity tool, an instructional presentation, as well as a template and lesson plan for a student activity using Inspiration/Kidspiration.

- Using Inspiration or Kidspiration as a Tool for Teacher Productivity
- Using Inspiration or Kidspiration as a Tool for Presentations
- Using Inspiration or Kidspiration as a Tool for Creating Instructional Templates
- Locating Resources in Your School or on the Web for Using Inspiration and Kidspiration
Project/Lesson Plan
Participants are required to produce a teacher productivity or presentation tool, a student template, and a lesson plan for implementing the use of the template in the classroom.
Prerequisites
In order to successfully complete this course, you should have the following skills and experience:
- AppleWorks Fundamentals or Microsoft Office Fundamentals,
- Completion of Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel (TSIP) Standards 1-4,
- or equivalent experience with permission of the instructor.
TSIP Information
Successful completion of this course will validate the technology integration portion of Standards 5-8 of the Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel (TSIP)
