| Software Information
In order to complete the out of class assignments required in all of the technology courses, you will need to have the correct software installed on a computer at your school or at home. Some titles are part of the core software that may be installed on your classroom or office computer. For some classes, however, you may need to ask your school or office to purchase the necessary software for you.
The information below will give you some basic information about each title. The catalog listing and the listings on this site will state which version of a program will be used in each class and which alternative versions, if any, can be used outside of class. Your School-Based Technology Specialist (SBTS) can help you obtain and install the software you need for your class.

Purchasing Software for Yourself
Many software publishers offer special pricing on their titles for educators and students. In most cases, however, the program license only allows personal/instructional use of the software and specifically forbids commercial use.
The vendors linked below offer educational prices on the software titles above (and many others). In most cases you will need to provide proof of your status. Normally this proof might include a photocopy of your pay stub or a letter on school letterhead signed by your principal.
These vendors are listed for information purposes only. This does not indicate an endorsement by Fairfax County Public Schools.
