PhotoShop Fundamentals

Course Description

Adobe PhotoShop is a powerful tool for editing and manipulating photographs and other digital images. In this class, participants learn the basics of importing and altering images from a variety of sources including digital cameras and scanners. Other topics include using layers to create more complex images, adding text to images, using filters, and using various painting and drawing tools. A major emphasis of this class is the preparation of images for use in presentations and web pages and for use in instruction.

Prerequisites

A good understanding of using a computer for basic productivity (word processing, presentation software, etc.). Participants must have a computer with Adobe PhotoShop 5.5 or higher or Adobe Photo Elements (depending on the section) installed and available to complete the required out of class assignments.

TSIP Information

This course does not meet any part of the Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel.
