Course Description

This course utilizes your fundamental skills with the various components of AppleWorks or Microsoft Office to create a variety of teaching/learning materials for use in the classroom. Participants complete a series of curriculum-related projects using the five environments of AppleWorks or applications from the Microsoft Office suite. Class activities are intended to model appropriate use and integration of the software to meet curriculum objectives. Participants will spend significant class time, as well as out of class time, working on projects of personal interest and must complete at least one lesson plan/project for use with students in their classroom.

Prerequisites

AppleWorks Fundamentals, Microsoft Office Fundamentals or Technology In Education or equivalent experience working with the software to be used in the particular section. Participants must have access to a computer with the appropriate software installed available outside of class in order to complete the required assignments.

TSIP Information

Successful completion of this course will validate the technology integration portion of Standards 5-8 of the Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel (TSIP)
