| Microsoft Excel Fundamentals

Course Description
This course is designed to teach the fundamentals of spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel. Participants will learn to use a variety of spreadsheet features including formulas, charting, printing and linking data within and between spreadsheets. Emphasis will be placed on specific activities that will enhance the participant's ability to meet the state technology competencies.
In this class participants will:
- learn spreadsheet concepts and vocabulary
- enter and edit data in a spreadsheet
- format a spreadsheet
- utilize formulas and functions
- use Excel wizards
- create charts
- insert graphic elements
- hyperlink spreadsheet elements
Prerequisites
Participants must have a good working knowledge of the operating system on their computer (Windows 98, 2000, Mac OS 8.6, etc.) and have access to a computer with Microsoft Office 2000 or higher installed in order to complete the out of class assignments.
TSIP Information
Successful completion of this course will certify participants for the spreadsheet requirment of Standards 1-4 of the Virginia Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel.
