General Information About Textbooks

If a book is required for a course, it was chosen to provide you with good instruction during the class and a review source after the class has finished. The instructor will use parts but not necessarily all of the book during the class and may assign sections as reading assignments or practice for homework.

Most textbooks for your classes should cost around $20 and are easily found at many local and online stores (see below). Please bring the book with you to each class section.

Local Stores

The stores listed below normally carry only a few copies of the required textbooks in stock. However, all will order the books for you and can have them delivered in a short period of time, usually less than a week. Call the individual stores to determine availability; click on the name of the store below to find the location closest to you. If you know someone who is taking the class with you, why not order your books together?

Some mall locations of B.Dalton Booksellers and Walden Books may also carry the titles as may some locations of CompUSA, Office Depot and Staples.

On The Web

The fastest and easiest way to find the titles is using one of the many online book shops. Most will have the title in stock and ship it directly to your home or school in less than three days. All of the sites linked below discount the titles at least 20% and offer completely secure transactions. Some of these sites may also sell used copies of the book you need for a larger discount.

To locate the book quickly, click on the picture of the book on each of the course information pages at this web site. Or visit one of the sites below, type a few of the keywords in the title (for example, windows glance) and the author's last name into the search box and click the Search button. From there, follow the instructions shown on the screen.
