ONLINE SERVICES

The following online services are available at the Education Library. These subscription databases may only be accessed within the Education Library with the exception of EBSCOHost.

Education Full-Text

This on-line resource from the H. W. Wilson Company provides indexing, abstracting, and full-text coverage for over 600 education-related periodicals, yearbooks, and monographs. Approximately 150 of the periodicals are available in full text format from 1996 to the present. Many of the journals cited are not covered by ERIC, thus providing additional educational resources for the researcher.

EBSCOHost

EBSCOHost is a one-stop online reference system accessible via an Internet connection. EBSCOHost offers multiple databases. The Education Library subscribes to the Professional Resources database from EBSCO which offers indexing and abstracting of over 750 full text periodical titles. This database provides coverage for some educational and psychological journals.  It also provides access to ERIC resources.  This database may be accessed from any FCPS computer.  Remote access requires passwords.

ProQuest

ProQuest ® is Bell & Howell Information and Learning's premier online information service. It provides powerful, convenient search and retrieval to one of the world's largest collection of information, including summaries of articles, with many in full text, full image format. The Education Library subscribes to ProQuest's Platinum FullText database which contains full-text access to over 1300 periodicals plus a selection of newspapers from a cross-section of the United States.

PsycARTICLES

PsycARTICLES™ is a database of full-text articles from more than 50 peer-reviewed journals published by the American Psychological Association, the APA Educational Publishing Foundation, the Canadian Psychological Association, and Hogrefe Publishing Group. The database includes all material from the print journals with the exception of ads and editorial board lists.  Chapters from selected APA books are also included.

Sage Education Full-Text Collection

Education: A SAGE Full-Text Collection includes the full text of 22 peer-reviewed journals published by SAGE and participating societies distinguished by up to 36 years of backfiles, and encompasses over 7,000 articles. It covers such subject areas as: Adult and Continuing Education, Educational Administration, Educational Policy, Elementary and Primary Education, High School and Secondary Education, Higher Education, International Education, Leadership, Measurement and Testing, Multicultural Education and Diversity, Professional Development, Teaching and Instruction, Teaching Methods.
