PD360- Professional Development on Demand provides access to high quality staff development materials via the Internet.  PD360 makes it possible to provide differentiated staff development while supporting a variety of learning styles and instructional approaches.

What is PD360?

  • An online professional development tool useful in planning staff development to address content and teaching strategies
  • A series of digitized searchable and indexed videos of teaching best practice classroom examples
  • Content topics are regularly updated and enriched
  • Many videos introduced by well-known experts such as Rick & Rebecca DuFour, Joellen Killion, Stephen Barkley, Spencer & Laurie Kagan, Jay McTighe, Rich Stiggins and many more
  • Participants answer reflection and follow-up questions designed to stimulate thinking about classroom application
  • Reporting capability to show the most-viewed topics and learning segments

Project Background

During the 2007-2008 school year, many schools and departments experimented with PD360 through a free trial account and were eager to purchase site licenses for their staff development initiatives.
  • A PD360 project team responded to a need from the Cluster offices, departments and schools to evaluate or assess this tool
  • Conducted a study and evaluated PD 360 in a variety of settings
    • The Mentor Program for Great Beginnings (PLT)
    • The Mentor/Protégé Program for SBTS
    • Select teachers using eCART
    • Cluster Offices for Professional Development
    • Professional Development Study at Elementary School
  • Investigated how PD360 was used
    • Collaboration for learning - Focus Objectives
    • Faculty Study Groups – Elementary School
    • Leadership – Cluster Offices
  • Monitored how PD 360 performs on the network
  • Develop recommendations/guidelines for use in FCPS
