The FCPS Academy Course Program is a virtual mini-university for teachers and other educational staff members The Academy Catalog provides college/university and Academy (non-college) credit courses. Both types of courses are paid for directly by the school system and participants receive college credit and/or recertification points. Academy courses are used for license renewal, salary scale increases, content course licensure requirements for teachers without Masters’ degrees, meeting Virginia technology standards, or for professional growth. |
The FCPS ACCESS Catalog offers workshops for support or non-instructional personnel. The workshops are offered during the normal work hours at a FCPS site. ACCESS workshops are offered by a variety of departments including: Communications and Community Outreach, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Professional Learning and Training. There is no tuition cost for support services employees on contract with FCPS. |
The PLT COMPASS Catalog, formerly known as Leadership Academy Seminars, is an online publication for school-based and central office administrators, teacher leaders, and school teams. This magazine-style publication provides articles and information focused on the goals of FCPS, as well as professional development opportunities through “Leadership Seminars.” Generally seminars are 2–6 hours in length. Seminars that are a minimum of five hours are eligible for points under Option 8 of the Virginia Recertification Regulations. |
