The Summer Insititute
The elementary summer institute starts the induction program for experienced teachers new to FCPS and is held in July or August. The institute focuses on helping experienced teachers new to FCPS begin a great start in Fairfax County Public Schools.
Insitute topics include:
- Record keeping
- Organizational issues and assessment
- Reading and writing workshop
- Classroom management

Who Can Enroll in
Great Beginnings: Enriching the Experience ?
All applicants for the program must meet two criteria:
- Have been offered a teaching contract with Fairfax County Public Schools
- Have two or more full-time years of experience outside of FCPS
