The Mathematics Standards of Learning (SOL) for Virginia Public Schools provide specific mathematical standards that describe what students should know and be able to do at each grade level in mathematics. The SOL mathematics assessment at eighth grade includes test items related to each of the mathematics standards for grades six, seven, and eight. Separate SOL assessments are given for the Algebra 1 and Geometry Honors courses.
