Office of Middle School Instruction

Providing Support for Middle Schools

  • Develops curriculum and instructional materials for Language Arts, mathematics, science, social studies, G/T, and ESOL programs

  • Identifies and supports instructional technology applications in each curriculum area

  • Meets quarterly with department chairpersons, school-based technology specialists, reading teachers, and administrators

  • Provides updates on local, state, and national curriculum and instruction initiatives
  • Provides standard and optional course offerings descriptions

  • Develops and supports summer school and after-school remediation curricular program for students at risk of failure

  • Coordinates implementation of Student Accountability Plan

  • Facilitates cross-grade articulation meetings between elementary, middle, and high schools
