The West Springfield High School planetarium was installed in March of 1967. It has a Spitz A3P projector and 67 seats, 37 fixed and 30 folding chairs, in a chevron seating pattern. A renovation was completed in March of 1991 which resulted in new carpeting and a suspended cove mount for auxiliary projectors.

Dave Hincher has been the planetarium teacher since Fall 1997.
