Schools of Excellence Application Process

The National PTA has instituted a program to help recognize and promote the importance of parent involvement in your school.

The new Parent Involvement Schools of Excellence certification program will help all schools in the nation assess their parent involvement practices, make improvements where needed, and earn one of two distinctions:

  • Certification of Excellence, for schools that have outstanding parent involvement practices in place.
  • Recognition of Commitment, for schools that are committed to pursuing excellence in parent involvement.
To help make the first step in earning this distinction, Fairfax County Public Schools' FSIS is offering to coorindate Schools of Excellence efforts with any interested FCPS school. FSIS has years of experience in working with school and PTAs to support theirh paretn/family involvement initiatives for he purpose of increasing student achievement.
