한국읽고쓰기 조기교육  Korean Early Literacy Program

조기 읽고 쓰기 프로그램은 무료이며, 신생아에서 5세까지의 어린 아동을 둔  모국어가 스페인어, 한국어, 아랍어인 패어팩스 카운티 주민들가족들을 대상으로 고안된 상호작용적인 부모 역할 교육에 대한 프로그램입니다. 이 프로그램은 다양한 패어팩스 카운티 학교 및 지역사회의 여러지정된 장소에서 일년내내 제공되며, 부모가 장래 학교에서 자녀가 성공하도록 준비하는데 도움이 되도록 고안되었습니다. 참가아동들은 부모님이나 집안의 다른 어른들과 함께 꼭참석하셔야 합니다.

수업은 잘 훈련된 강사가 모국어로 가르치며 부모님들은 두시간동안의 수업을 통해자녀와 함께 강의, 예증, 정보, 읽고 쓰기 지원과 활동을 통해 실습할 기회가 제공됩니다. 이 프로르램은 부모들의 관심사에 대해 논의하고 질문하며, 그들의 소중한 경험을 함께 나누는 안전한 환경을 제공해 줍니다. 몇 가지 중요한 주제가 이런 수업등에 포함되어 있습니다.:

The Early Literacy Program is a free, interactive parenting education program for families residing in Fairfax County who have young children from birth to five years of age, and whose home language is Spanish, Korean, or Arabic. The program is offered throughout the year at various school and community sites and is designed to help parents prepare their young children for future success in school. Children must be accompanied by a parent or extended family member.

The two-hour sessions are taught in the home language by highly trained, native-speaking instructors who provide information, demonstration, resources, literacy support, and an opportunity for participants to practice activities in class. The program offers a safe and friendly environment where parents can discuss their concerns, ask questions, and share their valuable experiences.
Some important topics covered in these sessions include:

• brain development
• the role of music, culture, and language in learning
• the importance of reading with children
• positive discipline and communication
• stages of development
• health and nutrition.

Parents receive a certificate of participation upon completion of the class, as well as books and other materials to enable them to work at home with their children after the classes have ended.

6주 프로그램특징 (6-Week Program)

6주 조기 읽고 쓰기 프로그램은 페어펙스 카운티 주민을 대상으로 가을과 봄에 6주동안 일주일에 두번씩 제공되며, 신생아에서 5세까지의 유치원에 들어가지 않은 자녀를 두신 부모님이 수강신청을 하실 수 있습니다.

The six-week program is offered in the fall and spring and meets twice a week. Fairfax County residents with children birth to five years of age who have not started kindergarten are eligible to register for this program.

이번 가을 학기 6주 프로그램은 10 월 6 일 부터 시작하며 현재 등록을 받고 있습니다.
Fall classes begin the week of Oct 6th, 2008 and we are currently accepting applications.

 다음 봄학기 6주프로그램은 2008 년 4 월 13 일부터시작합니다. 등록은 3 월 2일 시작합니다.
Spring classes begin week of April 13, 2009. Registration starts on March 2, 2009.

12주 프로그램 특징 (12-Week Program)

12주 조기 읽고 쓰기 프로그램은 가을과 봄학기 사이 겨울에 12주간 제공되며 수업은 다른 여러 패어팩스 카운티 공립학교 및 지역사회 지정장소에서 1주일에 한번 만나게 됩니다. 신생아에서 5세까지의 유치원에 들어가지 않은  자녀를 두신 부모님이 수강신청을 하실 수 있습니다.

The twelve-week program is offered in the winter, between the fall and spring sessions and meets once a week. Fairfax County residents with children birth to five years of age who have not started kindergarten are eligible to register for the classes.

12주 프로그램은 2008 년 1 월 5일에 시작하나 등록은 2008년 12 월 부터 받습니다.
Classes will begin the week of January 5, 2009. Registration starts the first week of December 2008.

연중 프로그램 (Yearlong Program)

조기 읽고 쓰기 연중 프로그램은 학교 3세에서 5세 사이면서 아직 유치원에들어가지 않은 자녀를두신 부모님이 수강신청을 하실수있습니다. 일주일에 두번하는 수업은 연간 대략 45주간 진행됩니다. 이 프로그램은 유아원같은 환경에서 자녀들과 상호작용 할 훌륭한 기회를 제공하며 학교들어가지전에 자녀를 준비시키는데 도움이 될 것입니다.

The yearlong program is for Fairfax County residents with children three to five years of age who have not started kindergarten. Classes meet twice a week throughout the school calendar year for approximately 45 weeks. This program offers parents a great opportunity to interact with their children in a preschool like setting that will help them prepare their children for school readiness.

이 프로그램은 2008 년 10 월 2번째주에 시작하며 현재 등록을 받고 있습니다.
Classes begin the first week of October, 2008.  Applications are being accepted now.
