1. How do I volunteer?
      The first step in volunteering is to register. Directions for registering can be found at http://www.fcps.edu/DIS/OCTE/VIP/register.htm . After you register, you will receive a monthly e-mail listing volunteer event opportunities.
    2. What is CTE?
      CTE stands for Career and Technical Education. CTE consists of six program areas: Business and Information Technology, Family and Consumer Sciences, Health and Medical Sciences, Marketing, Technology Education, and Trade and Industrial.     3. What is CTEAC?
      CTEAC stands for Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee. Appointed by members of the School Board of Fairfax County Public Schools, the committee is composed of representatives from business, industry and labor. The mission of CTEAC is to provide advice to the school administration regarding career and technical education programs and initiatives with the aim of maintaining and improving the effectiveness of these courses in providing students with occupational knowledge and skills valuable in preparing them for the workforce, and to assist the schools in obtaining support and participation from the business community and the public.     4. Will my registration information be shared with others?
      Your registration information is not used for any other purpose within FCPS, nor is it shared or sold to other agencies.
    5. How will I be contacted about opportunities to volunteer?
      The main method of communication is a monthly e-mail listing volunteer event opportunities. In some cases you may be contacted directly by a member of the Career and Technical Education staff for assistance with a specific need.
      How and when will I be notified that I have been selected to volunteer?
      Each event will have an official notification date. On or before that date you will receive an e-mail or phone call letting you know whether or not your volunteer services will be needed. If you are accepted as a volunteer for an event, you will be given more details from the main point of contact for that event.
    6. How do I donate furniture, technology equipment, cars, computers, office equipment, music equipment, photography equipment, office supplies or make a financial donation, to Fairfax County Public Schools?
