Aerospace Science I is a course that allows students to study aerodynamic principles, aviation history, electrical and mechanical systems, instrumentation, flight operations, safety and security, air traffic control, airport design, economic impacts, rocketry, satellite and space operations. Numerous lab activities include computer simulators, model aircraft design and testing. Leading national institutions and commercial businesses provide valuable resources and career experiences to participating students.

Diploma Seal: Students successfully completing this course may be eligible to earn a Career and Technical Education Diploma Seal.

Sequential Elective: Students successfully completing this course in conjunction with another one credit course within the same program area will satisfy the sequential elective requirement for the Standard or Modified Standard diploma.
