This advanced-level program provides students with the knowledge, skills and experience needed to prepare for post-secondary education in the visual communication fields of graphic design, multimedia, animation, and Web page design or for entry-level employment in this industry. This program educates students in traditional and computer-based design concepts and technical skills necessary for the profession. Students will use advanced professional software products, animate characters and objects, and create web pages incorporating movement, sound, text and graphics while utilizing new media software. Exploration of advanced production processes including emphasis on multimedia, printing, screen-printing, CD-ROM development, and other broadcast media will be taught. Diploma Seal: Students successfully completing this course may be eligible to earn a Career and Technical Education Diploma Seal.

Sequential Elective: Students successfully completing this course in conjunction with another one credit course within the same program area will satisfy the sequential elective requirement for the Standard or Modified Standard diploma.

Verified Credit: Successful completion of this course in conjunction with a corresponding industry certification may qualify for a student selected verified credit.
