Prerequisite: Heating and Air Conditioning 1 (850327)
Students in level 2 will utilize the foundations learned in the first level to design, troubleshoot and correct problems in HVAC systems. Through engineering programs, simulations, and practices, students will calculate loads for buildings and specialized environments. Students will learn to write programs by using programmable logic controls (PLCs) and smart house programs for automating building energy management systems. This course may be offered for college credit. Student internship experiences are an option for this course. Industry Certification: Industry certification may be available as part of this course.
Diploma Seal: Students successfully completing this course may be eligible to earn a Career and Technical Education diploma seal.
Sequential Elective: Students successfully completing this course in conjunction with another one credit course within the same program area will satisfy the sequential elective requirement for the standard or modified standard diploma.
Verified Credit: Successful completion of this course in conjunction with a corresponding industry certification may qualify for a student selected verified credit.
