Currently seven high schools offer JROTC programs supported by the Navy, Army, Air Force, or Marines. The JROTC program provides a four-year, sequential program of instruction that emphasizes academic preparation, citizenship, leadership, character development, and the scope and nature of the particular military service branch. The program is available to all students in grades 9-12 at their specific school sites and to students who want to take advantage of pupil placement to enroll in the program. The specific military branch contracts with the individual school and the school system to offer this program.
