Health and Medical Sciences Industry Certifications
Bloodborne Pathogens Students enrolled in the Fire and Emergency Medical Sciences course are eligible to receive this certification from OSHA. http://www.osha.gov/
CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Students enrolled in the Fire and Emergency Medical Sciences course are eligible to receive this certification from FEMA. https://www.citizencorps.gov/cert/
CPR Healthcare Provider Students who are enrolled in many Health and Medical Sciences courses including Exploring Health Sciences, Advanced Health Sciences and Fire and Emergency Medical Sciences are eligible to receive this certification from the American Heart Association after successfully completing a written and skills test. NOCTI-Health Care Foundations Students enrolled in the Advanced Health Sciences, Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy 2, and Practical Nursing courses are eligible to test for the Health Care Foundations Skill Standards certification. The National Health Science Career Cluster & the National Consortium on Health Science & Technology Education have partnered with NOCTI to deliver the Health Care Foundation Skill Standards Assessment. VA Dental Radiography Safety Students enrolled in the Dental Careers 2 course are eligible to receive this certification after passing a state approved written dental radiographic safety exam. http://www.dhp.state.va.us/dentistry/
