Fairfax Academy received a grant for $30,000 from the Apple Federal Credit Union Education Foundation to integrate 21st century leadership concepts, skills, and projects into the varied academic programs offered by the Academy. Project activities will include professional development days for students; Signature Projects for 2nd year students; opportunities to interact with successful professionals in design, media & digital communications, performing arts and international affairs; a Creative Leaders in Residence program; and, the development of a virtual Fairfax Academy alumni network.
Students in the level II dental careers program at West Potomac Academy began their annual fundraiser work in August making mouth guards for fall sports programs that expressed an interest in obtaining some. They will continue production of the mouth guards after school hours throughout the year.
