The Program
Technology and careers come alive as students experience new worlds while they rotate through three units: Artistic Expression, Technology Transfer, and Life Matrix. Courses within these units are either new or revised to offer returning students additional topics of interest.

Artistic Expression
Tech Adventure campers combine their artistic creativity with technology through multimedia applications in It’s a 3D World. Campers will also design their own virtual world in Design in Mind.
Technology Transfer
Future engineers discover the world of robotics while they design, assemble, and program their own creations in Robotic Engineer. Campers explore the world of science and technology related to criminal investigation in Focus on Forensics.
Life Matrix
With access to a commercial kitchen and under the supervision of a culinary chef, students learn food preparation skills as they create and enjoy healthy foods in Kids Chef. Campers will build a simulated reality using technology in Virtual Life.
Eligibility
Students currently enrolled in grades 5, 6, and 7 during the 2007-08 school year are eligible for Tech Adventure Camp. Fairfax County residents with a student enrolled in a private school and non-Fairfax County residents should read the Registration Requirements regarding registration procedures and requirements
Registration
Fax and mail registration begins May 12 and ends June 24 or until classes reach capacity. Use Form A to register. Write Tech Adventure Camp as the course title. The course number is STM 1200. Neither a school signature nor a report card is required for this application. Space is limited to the first 200 participants at each site.
Tuition
Tuition is $400 for Fairfax County residents and $500 for nonresidents. All materials and supplies are included. Tuition reduction is not available.
Food Services
Lunch is not provided. Students are encouraged to bring a bag lunch for the mid-day break. Limited lunch selections will be available each day.
Transportation
The parent or guardian may arrange transportation to Chantilly High School or Edison High School, or students may ride FCPS buses at no additional cost. Transportation is provided only within the assigned summer school area. Students may attend a site out of their local school assignment; however, bus transportation is not provided. Refer to the list below to determine the appropriate site.
For students using bus transportation, bus stops are not the same as those during the school year. Bus stop information will be provided to students in early July.
