Eligibility
Only FCPS term graduates who have passed a high school level tested course(s) but need to achieve a passing score on the associated Virginia SOL test(s) may register for this program. Current grade 9 -11 students enrolled in a Virginia public school have the opportunity to take the test(s) in the fall of 2008 and spring of 2009 at their base school and should consult their counselors in September.

SOL Test-Only Session — Writing
Writing is a two-day test. Students must attend both days.

Registration
FCPS term graduates who have earned the appropriate standard credit may register to take no more than three Virginia SOL tests during the summer. It is possible to take the Writing SOL test in July and two additional SOL tests (one per day) on August 5 and 6. Students must register by the required deadlines in order to take tests. Tests are not administered to students who do not register on time.
In order for all students, including limited English proficient (LEP) and special education, to receive appropriate accommodation, they must preregister by the deadlines. Students may only take the test identified on their completed registration form. No additional tests or switching of tests is permitted.
FCPS term graduates should select the summer school test site that serves their base school.
Complete registration Form C and attach a copy of the report card that shows the student passed the course.
The registration form must be signed by the student’s counselor.
There is no cost to retake an SOL end-of- course test.
Transportation
Transportation is the responsibility of the parent or guardian.
