Encore 2008 Summer School Programs 2008

The summer school booklet, Encore, is available online.

This booklet provides information regarding the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) summer programs available for students who complete grades 4-11 during the 2007-08 school year.

Arabic, Korean, Spanish, Urdu, and Vietnamese translations of the summer school information are available from the student’s counselor or ESOL teacher.


Summer School

Elementary Summer School Program
The elementary school summer learning opportunity is a school-based program offered at selected sites.

Middle School Summer Program
The middle school summer program is a school based intervention program offered at selected sites.

High School Summer Program
The high school summer academic program is a central site-based program and runs from Wednesday, July 9, through Thursday, August 7, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m.

The high school program is based on the regular school year academic program. Courses are offered for high school students in grades 9-12 who need credit recovery, Standards of Learning (SOL) test remediation, and course acceleration. Students must meet the prerequisites to enroll in high school courses.

Transportation is provided for students who reside in Fairfax County.

Program information may change. All summer programs are contingent on school budget approvals, as well as sufficient enrollment, staffing, and space.
