Kay Karim recipient of the
Gourmand World Cookbook Award 2007

In the NewsACE Instructor Kay Karim received the Gourmand World Cookbook Award 2007 in London on April 13, 2008 for her cookbook, Iraqi Family Cookbook: From Mosul to America. The award is presented to authors whose books appear to be historically significant to cookbook publishing. Read press release.
Ms. Karim grew up in Baghdad and immigrated to the United States 40 years ago. Her cookbook is filled with over 80 traditional Iraqi recipes and 60 original photographs. These recipes have been adapted to use common ingredients found in U.S. markets.
As an ACE culinary instructor, Ms. Karim finds sharing her culture through her recipes a very fulfilling experience. She particularly enjoys receiving feedback on her classes and cookbook from her students.
Recipients from around the world have been awarded the Gourmand Cookbook Award since 1995. |
