• If VA 5-year license or VA statement of eligibility is valid, please fax a copy with your FCPS ID number on it to the FCPS Licensure Office at 571-423-3147.

  • Obtain your CARI competency record via http://www.fcps.edu/DHR/employees/licensure/cari.htm
    
    
  • Please mail your signed and dated written request to the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) for a one time one-year extension for current school year with your CARI competency record attached to the Licensure Office, Department of Human Resources, Gatehouse Administration Center I, 8115 Gatehouse Road, Falls Church, VA 22042. Remember to include your FCPS ID number on your documents.
    
    
  • Next, work on assembling your license renewal packet to submit to the Licensure Office by March 1 of the extended license expiration year. Learn more about renewing your VA five-year professional license.
    
    
• If Adding Additional Endorsement(s) to 5-yr Professional License Via Passing Applicable Praxis II (limited to specific license types and endorsements)
  

Please send competency record(s), completed renewal form(s), passing score sheet(s) if applicable to adding an endorsement, and/or your signed request letter via pony mail or postal mail to the Licensure Office, Department of Human Resources, Gatehouse Administration Center I, 8115 Gatehouse Road, Falls Church, VA 22042. Remember to include your FCPS ID number on your documents.

The FCPS Licensure Office transmits and pays licensure costs to the Virginia Department of Education for FCPS contracted instructional/pupil servicing licensed employees.

*refers to license with pupil personnel service type of endorsements like school counseling prek-12 or school social worker or school psychology or speech-language pathologist prek-12.
