Home > Employees > Licensure > How To Add/Remove Endorsement(s) from Teaching License

Teachers needing to remove endorsement(s):

  • Send a signed and dated letter to the licensure office requesting the removal of the endorsement(s) from their teaching licenses. The letter must include a brief statement that indicates that the teacher understands that if he/she wishes to be evaluated for the endorsement in the future, then the evaluation will be based upon the regulations/requirements in effect at the time the request is made.

If the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) approves…

  • The teacher is issued a license without these endorsement(s).
  • If not approved, VDOE will send written reason directly to teacher.

Please send requests via pony mail or postal mail to the Licensure Office, Department of Human Resources, Gatehouse Administration Center I, 8115 Gatehouse Road, Falls Church, VA 22042.

Remember to include your FCPS ID number on your documents.
