The Support Employee of the Year Award recognizes unique and exceptional contributions by support personnel. There are two winners for this award, one school-based and one non-school-based.

The winners, finalists, and nominees for this award are all honored in the spring at a special Support Employee of the Year reception, generously supported by the Fairfax Education Foundation, followed by a special School Board Ceremony.

Parents, students, administrators, FCPS staff and teachers, Fairfax County government employees, and Fairfax County citizens are invited and encouraged to nominate a support employee for this prestigious award.

To be eligible for nomination, employees must:

  • Currently work as a contracted support employee in FCPS. All employees, except teachers and principals, are eligible.
  • Have completed three years of consecutive, successful full-time or part-time support experience in FCPS.
  • Plan to continue in an active support position next year.
  • Be aware of and in agreement with this nomination.

Nominees must be support employees who:

  • Provide a unique and exceptional contribution to FCPS through their work.
  • Demonstrate commitment.
  • Demonstrate leadership in their field of work.
  • Foster cooperative relationships with colleagues and/or the community.
