First Year Teacher Award
The First Year Teacher Award Program recognizes and rewards $2,000 to one outstanding first year classroom teacher who began his or her teaching career on or after January 1, 2007. The program is supported by The FCPS Education Foundation, Inc. Only principals may nominate teachers for this award.
All candidates must:
- Be certified teachers in grades K-12, who began their teaching careers on or after January 1, 2007.
- Have performed outstandingly during the initial year of teaching based on FCPS standards.
- Serve as a role model for all beginning teachers.
