New Employee Orientation

If you are a new employee in a permanent position with Fairfax County Public Schools, you will receive important employment information in a Human Resources orientation session. You may attend a session prior to being fingerprinted and/or receiving your photo identification badge.

In addition to receiving an overview of Fairfax County Public Schools, you will receive important information about your pay, benefits, performance evaluation, and both employee and employer responsibilities in this session.  You will also complete critical paperwork and complete required training on Discrimination and Harassment Awareness. Attendance is required of all new employees hired/rehired into permanent positions within FCPS. New food service and transportation employees are not required to register for a session. They will be assigned to a specific session by their supervisor.

Registration for these sessions is NOT for substitute teachers, temporary/hourly employees, or people seeking employment.

You should schedule this orientation at your earliest convenience and plan to attend a session sometime between the time you accept your offer of employment and up to 30 calendar days after you start your employment with FCPS.  If you do not attend within 30 days of your start date, you will lose eligibility to enroll in some benefits. Late enrollment for your medical and dental insurance and flexible spending account is not accepted.

To schedule your Human Resources orientation session, please review the Schedule of Available Human Resources Orientation Sessions to choose the appropriate session based on your position, and then go to the Orientation Registration Form.
