The Last Days of Pompeii

The Crestwood Chorus/CAST, under the direction of Ms. Lindsay, presented The Last Days of Pompeii. The musical drama, written by Ms. Lindsay, transported the audience back in time, to the final days of the doomed city of Pompeii.
"Our performance is dedicated to Michael Tran, our dear friend and classmate. We think of you often and remember all of the good times we had together."
The Cassius family and Pliny the Elder have come by boat from the Isle of Capri, across the Bay of Naples, to Pompeii. There, at the dock, they are greeted by the Septimus family. The Septimus family hosts a lavish banquet in their luxurious villa. They and their guests revel in their good fortune and toast the future.
Neptunas Septimus unveils his plan to sneak off to the top of Mount Vesuvius.
	The Forum in Pompeii is bustling with activity on the morning of August 24, 79 C.E. Does anyone in the crowd suspect that Vesuvius will erupt that very afternoon?
Wise Old Man Marcus teaches the children about Vesuvius.
The mayor and his wife greet the Pompeians at the gladiatorial games.
Gladiators fight to the death in the Pompeii ampitheater.	The Etruscan Demon proclaims, "He is dead, but Pompeii lives on!"
Gladiators battle a fierce lion!
Terror strikes the people of Pompeii as the volcano erupts!
The Septimus household mourns the loss of Bassus who was ovecome by the poisonous fumes spewing from Vesuvius.
Wise Old Man Marcus begs Antonia to save herself and flee from the volcano. He knows there is no hope for himself or for Pliny the Elder.
	A fortunate few are able to escape the destruction of Pompeii by making their way to the harbor and fleeing in boats.
